Cloudflare Drop Alternative

The Cloudflare Drop alternative where your site stays online

Cloudflare Drop is a neat way to preview a site, but the preview expires after 60 minutes unless you claim it into a Cloudflare account. Static.app is the same drag-and-drop upload, and your website stays online: with an in-browser editor, forms, analytics, password protection, and custom domains with free SSL.

  • No 60-minute timer

A Cloudflare Drop deployment is a temporary preview: it goes offline after an hour unless you claim it into a Cloudflare account. Websites uploaded to Static.app stay online, on the free plan too, with no timer to beat.

  • Update without redeploying

Cloudflare Drop doesn't document a way to update a published site in place. On Static.app you edit files in the in-browser editor or re-upload a new ZIP, and your URL stays the same.

  • Password protection built in

A Drop site is public, and the only privacy is that nobody knows the random URL. Static.app includes one-click password protection for a single page or the whole website, plus built-in forms and analytics.

How to move from Cloudflare Drop

  • 1

Keep the same files you dropped on Cloudflare. Static.app hosts the identical static assets: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, and fonts.

  • 2

ZIP the files with index.html at the root of the archive, not nested inside a subfolder.

  • 3

Drag the ZIP onto static.app. Your website is live instantly and stays live. Connect your custom domain with free SSL from the dashboard.

Simple hosting with everything included

  • Free SSL on every website

HTTPS is automatic on every website and custom domain.

  • Forms and analytics included

Collect form submissions and track visitors without installing scripts or writing backend code. Cookie-free and privacy-friendly.

  • In-browser editor

Tweak your files after upload without re-dropping anything. Your URL never changes.

Cloudflare Drop Alternative FAQ

What is Cloudflare Drop?

Cloudflare Drop is a tool Cloudflare launched in July 2026. You drag a folder or ZIP of static files into the browser and get an instant live site on a random workers.dev address, with no account needed to start. The site is a temporary preview: it stays live for 60 minutes, and to keep it you claim it into a Cloudflare account. It's great for quickly showing someone a work in progress.

How long does a Cloudflare Drop site stay online?

60 minutes. After that the deployment is deleted unless you claim it into a Cloudflare account. Websites uploaded to Static.app stay online with no timer, on the free plan as well.

Do I need an account to publish?

With Cloudflare Drop you can deploy without an account, but keeping the site past the first hour requires claiming it into a Cloudflare account. Static.app asks for a quick email signup as part of the upload, and your website then stays up on the free plan. Either way you end up with an account to keep a site; the difference is what you get with it: on Static.app that's an editor, forms, analytics, and password protection out of the box.

Can I update a site after publishing?

Cloudflare doesn't document whether a new drop can replace an existing one at the same URL. On Static.app you edit files directly in the in-browser code editor or re-upload a new ZIP, and your website keeps the same address.

Can I make my website private or password-protected?

Cloudflare Drop sites are public before claiming; the only privacy is that the random URL is hard to guess. Cloudflare offers private-site options after you claim the deployment into an account. Static.app includes one-click password protection for a single page or the whole website.

How do I move a Cloudflare Drop site to Static.app?

Use the same files. ZIP them with index.html at the root of the archive, drag the ZIP onto static.app, and your website is live and stays live. You can then connect a custom domain with free SSL from the dashboard.
